The original lock mechanisms required a certain touch to make them work properly, the door handle button needed to be held down *while* the door was shut in order for the door to remain locked, otherwise when the latch hit the striker plate, the door would unlock itself. I considered it an amusing quirk of driving an old car, particularly with unsuspecting passengers who "forgot" to depress the button.Quality Price Value
This latch mechanism fits my car and works fine, but it doesn't unlock itself like the old one did, this one acts more like a modern car would. Needless to say I will be looking for a way to repair the old latch while I use this one temporarily. (Posted on 2/19/2016)
