1967 Mustang Information

The 1967 Mustang was the first redesign. A larger size allowed room for the big-block V8. The length of the Mustang body increased 2”, but the wheel base stayed the same.  The overall feel of the Mustang didn’t change, and the body lines that had been so popular remained. This is the first year for the deluxe interior packages, brushed stainless steel trim, overhead console and special door panels. This was also the first year for the “SelectShift” automatic transmission, and tilt steering wheel.  This was the last year the “FORD” letters would be found on the Mustang hood. The grille had changed from 1966, the rectangular mesh remained but it was now surrounded by wide trim strips. The Corral shape is now wider at the bottom than the top, and abbreviated horizontal and vertical bars re-appear around the corral.  This year the Shelby was offered as a GT350 small block and a GT500 big block version.
