1969 Mustang Information

The 1969 Mustang was restyled more drastically than before; Ford added almost 4 inches to the body length. The corral was removed and the Pony and Tri-Bar Emblem was placed off center on the now molded plastic grille, dual headlamps were also added inside the grill, for a total of four headlamps.  The 1969 Mustang Fastback was rebranded the “SportsRoof” and was given new quarter scoops and built in rear spoiler. Ford introduced the 1969 Mustang Mach 1, featuring a hood scoop or the optional shaker hood and hood pins. The Mach 1 also featured a pop open gas cap, chrome styled steel wheels and dual exhaust. The Mach 1 interior featured bucket sets with “comfortweave” inserts, wood grain trim on the doors and instrument panels and a rally style clock and Mach1 emblem on the passenger side.  Two Mustang BOSS models were also introduced this year, the 1969 Mustang BOSS 302, which offered rear window louvers, & the 1969 Mustang BOSS 429. The Shelby Mustang was now completely under Fords control and two models were produced, the 1969 Mustang Shelby GT350 & the 1969 Mustang Shelby GT500.
